About the Granada

The Granada is the brainchild of Enio Cordoba and Terryl Jones. Enio started Let's Dance L.A. in 1988. Teaming with Terryl in 1993, they created not just a studio but a family of dancers, students and friends.

In 2002, after several attempts at finding a larger location for the rapidly-growing studio, Terryl suggested the Polo Club as the new home of Let's Dance. After nearly a year of rehabilitating the building to its original opulence, the old Polo Club was renamed the Granada.

Why the Granada? A little play on words. In Spain the palace of the city of Granada was called the Alhambra. Here the Granada is the "palace" of Alhambra.

Let's Dance L.A.- That wonderful name says it all, and has served the studio well for 18 years. Now, Let's Dance L.A. is a tenant of the Granada along with the restarant Guitarras. Lets Dance L.A. will also teach dance classes for the nightclub. Classes will go on throughout the building but it is important to remember that we are co-tenants sharing the beautiful Granada and there will be other activities and groups sharing space. The restarant, Guitarras, will provide food everyday, in addition to being the caterer for rentals. Just as most clubs in Hollywood have different theme nights, so will the Granada. Our Friday and Saturday night Salsa dances, will be known as Salsa Central at the Granada. Our Swing Nights will be known as Swing Central and so on. Got it? The Granada (the building), Lets Dance LA (the studio), Guitarras (the restaurant), SalsaCentral (the Salsa club night), SwingCentral (the Swing club night).
